Sleeping beauty

I read in an article, that beauty sleep is important. We hear it from our mothers, but do you know the exact reason behind having your 8 hours sleep? To keep it simple:

  • Beauty sleep takes effect when your muscles and digestive system rest.
  • your blood cells supply nutrients to skin cells better when you are asleep.
  • No beauty cream, no facials, no amount of makeup can give you the glow, fresh and relaxed look that a sound sleep provides.
  • Lack of sleep will cause wrinkles, aging and drier skin.
  • Your skin renews itself as you sleep which is why too little sleep can make your skin look tired and dull.

Sleeping tips for beauty queens:

  • Minimize noise and light from your bedroom.
  • Add a tablespoon of honey to a glass of warm milk and drink it before bedtime.
  • Take a walk before retiring to bed. A 15 - 20 minute slow stroll is best.
  • Keep the room at a comfortable temperature.
  • Try natural-fill pillows such as feather.
  • Refrain from caffeine products. (coffee, coke, etc
DON'T:
  • Do heavy exercise before going to bed.
  • Eat too much carbohydrates like breads or noodles, especially for supper (you shouldn't even be having supper). Refrain from sugar and excess caffeine and follow a healthy eating diet.
  • Go to bed hungry or overly full.
* the above mentioned is basic beauty sleeping tips. If you encountered weeks of sleepless nights, please consult a doctor instead.
